SPARS Lieutenant Dorothy Nims was part of the first group of women officers trained by the United States Coast Guard. She was in charge of a Coast Guard recruiting and public relations office in Pittsburgh, Pa; the address can be seen painted on the back of the car. With Nims is Cadet Dorothy Preuss who was a former yeomen, 3rd class, at the Coast Guard Station in the Park Building. This image is located on west column F of the memorial.
