During the first days of the Normandy Invasion Operation, landing ships pulled cargo on to the shore of the beaches at low tide. Some of the ships in this photograph are identified: U.S.S. LST-532 (center view); U.S.S. LST-262 (third from right); U.S.S. LST-310 (second from right); U.S.S. LST-533 (far right/partially visible). This image is one of the large photographs on the east wall of the memorial.
